Doughnuts!!

My father says that my ways of cooking are unconventional. My reply to him has always been the same, “As long as I am getting results, what’s the big deal?”

As you see, I cook by my own rules. I am not the kind of person who keeps all the ingredients ready beforehand. I follow the recipe and always end up making a big mess. And it wasn’t different on that particular Sunday when I suddenly decided to make some fried doughnuts.

As I mentioned before, I am not very organized when it comes to cooking/baking, so when I was supposed to mix milk with active dry yeast, I had to use water instead because my Aunt used the milk to make caramel custard. But it didn’t stop me from making a dessert, that I had wanted to make since the time I started baking. Then after 10 minutes, I poured out the bloomed yeast into a container along with vanilla essence and butter and started whisking. After that, when I checked the recipe again, I realized that I also had to whisk 2 eggs into the batter. Spoiler alert, I didn’t have any eggs left at home because my Aunt had used them. What a DISASTERšŸ˜”!! I was so furious beacause everything was falling apart. So I literally ran to get some milk and eggs from the nearby supermarket. I was really worried because I didn’t want the yeast to die before I even added the flour. I came back as quickly as possible. I whisked in the eggs and added a little milk for creamy texture. Then I added the flour and powdered sugar in the most messy way possible (there was flour everywhere including on the table as well as my clothes).

I let the dough rest for 1 hour. In the meantime, I prepared some royal icing to glaze my doughnuts. After that I cut the dough by a cookie cutter and deep fried them. I let them cool and then glazed them. I also garnished them with walnuts.

I know they looked messy but I was really happy to have finally made the dessert that I have always wanted to make.

Hey guys! This blog is dedicated to all the bakers out there who are proud of their creations without bothering about what others would think. Just keep baking and have fun. Enjoy!

  1. This is great. These, are greater. I knew it’d be worth it having bakers in the class. Yearlong supply of munchies! šŸ©šŸŖšŸ°šŸ„šŸ®šŸ»
